7 Beauty Products Every Woman Needs

For many years I didn’t think of makeup as having to be of any particular brand and I really didn’t want to spend too much money on it. For me, makeup was eye shadow, mascara and foundation… But then I found out how many products there are out there that can enhance your beauty, hide your flaws and give you a more natural look at the same time.

As you can see, these products are mostly from Chanel and Lancome. Those two are my favorite brands when it comes to makeup. These brands are pricey, but the products are of high quality, long lasting an unique. So look at it as an investment. For a little more money you get a product that you can have for many months, lasts longer and is of better quality.

BeautyProducts1. FACE/EYE CREAM - Chanel Beaute Initiale- These face and eye creams make your face and eye area soft and fresh feeling and looking. It’s very moisturising and the foundation looks a lot better once put over these creams.  Duration: 4 months

2. MASCARA - Exceptionnel De Chanel –  I love this Chanel mascara – I used many different ones before, but I’m amazed at how thick, long and curvy my eyelashes became without the use of lash-curler! It is a bit hard to used at first though. DURATION: 4 months

3. POWDER – Poudre Cristalline, Chanel – it looks like a traditional baby powder, but this one is translucent and has a really fine result. It is used over the foundation and the wet look that foundation sometimes leaves disappears and the skin looks very natural! It is an amazing product. DURATION: More than 1 year

4. FOUNDATION – Photogenic Lumessence, Lancome – A foundation that hides every flaw and imperfection and is natural looking. The skin becomes extremely smooth. It’s a MUST HAVE of mine! Duration: about 6 months

6. BLUSH – Joues Contraste, Chanel – Your skin looks fresher and more radiant, but don’t overdo it! I have 3 different from colours – I use the lighter shade in the summer and the darker in the winter. DURATION: Until it expires – you can hardly see that you’re using it.

5. EYE LINER - Long-Wear Gel Eye Liner, Bobbi Brown – This is my absolute favorite eye liner. I use black and brown. It’s SO easy to use and it stays on for many hours looking fresh! DURATION: Have used half of the small jar in 1 year.

7. LIP GLOSS – Juicy Tube, Lancome – There are many different shades (I chose no. 31 – it’s glossy, but not glittery) – These Juicy Tubes smell and look wonderful. However they can be pretty sticky, so if you have long hair and it’s windy outside, you’re probably gonna get some hair on your lips – not great! DURATION: Have only used it for a couple of weeks now, so couldn’t say.

I feel the same way when it comes to make up and skincare. I prefer spending a little more money and getting a brand product, cause as you say it often is better quality. Some of my favourite products are Decleor, Ole Henriksen and Smashbox, but I also have a Chanel blush which I love :)

Goodness I guess i will have to try new make-up now! I really don’t think I’ve tried any other make-up ever since I started using Mary Kay (since like 3 to 4 yrs. now). I don’t know, I just want whatever is best for my skin, price hardly matters as long as it’s good quality and lasts a long time.
I hear a lot about MAC and Smashbox and well, now Chanel and Lancome… Do they have mineral make-up too? ’cause I’m a mineral make-up girl now. ;)

I agree – we should not compromise when it comes to skin care. I’ve tried different mineral foundations, but I didn’t really find a brand that was perfect for my skin. Which brand of mineral foundation are you using – is it Mary Kay or something else?

There is Lancome mineral foundation, but I have not tried it yet – Chanel is still a bit old fashioned when it comes to make-up and doesn’t make mineral foundation :)

Nah, all of my make up is mineral except my foundation… I haven’t tried a mineral foundation yet. If you find a good one let me know though! :)

When I try the Bare Minerals foundation, I’ll let you know how it was! (See comment from Anna)

I always use mineral foundation; it’s simply the best! It doesn’t clog up your pores and it makes the skin looking natural as if you weren’t wearing any foundation. I have been through a lot of different mineral foundations, Smashbox, Mac, Tromborg to name a few, but my favourite so far is Bare Minerals. It comes is so many colours, which actually can be just as bad as good, as it is harder to find the right one when you shop on-line like me ;-) But it is definitely recommendable. Also, I’ve heard good things about Youngblood, but haven’t tried it yet. Next time…;-)

I’ve tried the one from Tromborg, but it kinda itched (!!) – do you experience mineral foundations like that? I gave up after Tromborg, but yes, mineral foundations don’t look like foundation – the skin really does look natural! I’m gonna have to try the one from Bare Minerals when I’m done with my old-fashioned Lancome foundation! Thanx for the advice, Anna!
