Meet the lovely Sherin… She’s a born and raised Londoner with a degree in Politics and a great love for fashion! Sherin is the author of HiFashion, one of UK’s most popular fashion blogs, where she writes about not only fashion, but also music. Sherin’s bubbly personality and her chic and feminine style are a great inspiration, so check out what she has to say!
1. Describe your style in three words.
Diverse, fun, inspired.
2. Where do you find your fashion inspiration?
This is going to sound so cliche, but for me, fashion inspiration comes from other people. I love looking at street style photos, and then trying the looks for myself. When I’m out and about, I keep an eye open for what other people are wearing and draw inspiration from them.
3. When it comes to fashion, what’s your favorite season of the year and why?
I love Autumn: it’s definitely my favourite season for fashion, so I’m very inspired these days. I love it because it’s one of those seasons that you can wear pretty much anything. The weather is still ok, so you can still wear all your summer favourites, such as dresses/shorts, with tights and your favourite summer shoes (heels!!). And as it’s starting to get cold, you can also wear all your favourite jeans and cute cardigans. Oh and I love boots: Autumn is when I can start wearing boots again.
4. Who is your favorite designer and why?
I’m a huge shoe person, so I’m going to choose a shoe designer. I love Nicholas Kirkwood. I don’t own any of his shoes (yet), but I would love to buy a few pairs when I can afford them. His designs are soooo unique and look so much fun. They are seriously out of this world.
5. Do you have a favorite piece of clothing?
My favourite piece of clothing changes all the time. Right now, it’s this playsuit. Playsuits were a big trend this summer and I wore mine all throught the summer. I’m planning on wearing it all through the autumn as well. I love it because it’s such an adorable playsuit and is so much fun to wear.
I have so many favourite bands, but I think Hayley Williams, of Paramore, has really influenced my style. She is gorgeous and I love her style. She spends a lot of time in Vans, skinny jeans and cool tops, and these have slowly been overtaking my wardrobe. You don’t get too many girls in rock, so it’s nice to see her rocking it up. She also wears some pretty cool dresses and wears them with her own unique twist.
7. What is your best fashion or beauty tip?
Confidence is key!! You can wear pretty much anything, and look amazing in it, if you feel amazing in it. If you feel uncomfortable in what you’re wearing, it clearly shows.
8. Tell me a little bit about your blog…
I started it as a fashion blog, with my friend, in January 2009. She’s recently moved on and started her own blog. I still post a lot about fashion and outfit’s I’m wearing, but I’ve also started posting more about music.
