With the weather constantly changing, it is kind of hard to find the perfect outfit. I used to hate being out in the rain because a) I always forgot my umbrella or b) my hair, which takes me about an hour to blow dry ,always fell out of place. At one of my stays in London, I came behind the secret, why some women just look stunning, even in the rain.
The Umbrella
Never before have I ever thought of an umbrella as an accessory item. But since it started pouring down, I had to come up with something. It was either using my latest Observer issue, like Carrie did in SATC, or purchasing an umbrella. And I went for option number two.
4 Reasons why an umbrella can be a girl’s best friend
- You won’t ruin your hair
- You don’t have to wear a rain coat
- Umbrellas come in many different sizes, colours, shapes
- Because you can simply look fab with one

What about jackets and coats?
- What are your plans? Casual or fancy?
- If you’ve got an umbrella with you, no need for a rain coat
Barbour jackets are making a big come back this season. I remember owning one about 13 years ago and I loved it. Combine it with brown leather boots and you’ll look gorgeous. But make sure to wear a warm jumper or cardigan underneath, especially this time of year. With an umbrella you can pretty much wear any coat out on a rainy day. {The brown leather jacket below has unfortunately sold out, but Vince has some beautiful brown leather goods to choose from!}

Footwear
Wellies are always a good choice, especially for festivals – you can style them with some over-the-knee socks and be ready for a rainy day in a minute. You don’t want to wear ballet flats or plimsoles when it rains, unless you’re keen on getting wet feet. Choose boots, ankle boots, wedges etc. Preferably genuine leather and don’t forget to coat them – that way you and you’re feet will stay warm and dry and the leather shoes will not be ruined, nor stained!

Don’t forget your accessories because…

Accessories are often what makes your look stand out from the crowd, makes it personal at at the same time fun. Pretty, colorful details will, especially on the rainy days, bring the much-needed excitement to any item, so don’t hold back with a nice umbrella, hat or pair of girly gloves!
