How To Look Stylish in Palazzo Pants

by Anthony - FSA Stylist

The new trouser shape of the season has arrived – wide is in, and the wider the better! Palazzo pants are comfortable to wear and such a versatile item. This wide elegant trouser will make you look fresh and cool without exposing your legs, so no matter what the shape, they’ll look great.

Surprisingly, there are so many choices of palazzo for this season. From printed floral and fauna to denim, from delicate-lace materials to silk and chiffon. For those just discovering this fashion trend, follow these TIPS:

PALAZZO PANTS / TOPS / SHOES / BELT

• Shoes: Since wide pants have a tendency to shorten ones height, wedges and chunky heeled sandals are perfect to give you that added height. If you are blessed with long legs you can pull off flat shoes. Brogues are perfect for a preppy take.

• Tops: Embrace the 70’s disco fever by mixing your printed palazzo with solid tops. Blouses with bow accents, crisp white shirts, ruffled camisoles, and oriental-style tops are perfect as well. Stand out from the crowd in bright shades of red, purple or blue palazzo, but make sure that your look is kept in proportion for that retro vibe. A tight fitting blouse balances the voluminous shape of the palazzo. You can also try a soft tailored blazer, just fold-up your sleeves half-length for a dressed-up effect.

• Accessories – Highlight your waist while wearing the palazzo pants. The golden rule is “tuck-in or belt-up”. Wearing a skinny belt will accentuate the curves of the body. Glam-up by adding contrast colored accessories to your plain palazzo.

But just like any other fashion trend,  make it suit your character and style. Try it with your own individuality and personality.
