A guest post by Trasi of Midwest Couture.
It all began with a pair of gold metallic kitten-heel Gucci’s from Yoox when I was 20 years old…and the rest is history! A self-proclaimed tomboy, it was time to start experimenting with high heels…my personal style was evolving & couture shoes were paramount.
Fashion is an art form and a developed sense of style should reflect your personality, your mood…a representation of you. Stilettos make the ultimate statement…pulling a wardrobe together effortlessly, invoking a sexy confidence & simply upping the ante.
My stiletto obsession truly came about upon discovering Jimmy Choo…quickly moving from kitten to 85mm, now anything under 120 just won’t do. I wanted versatility, clean design, and most importantly…the ‘timeless factor’.
I stalked these Choo ‘Samoa’ sandals on Net-a-porter for months, purchasing with ninja precision the moment they went on markdown! I LOVE the sexy zipper up the back & pleased to see several other designers I adore, such as Fendi and Miu Miu, offering new Spring designs with this same aspect in mind.
A painted canvas…Christian Louboutin. These are my coveted, the staple to any little black dress, pencil skirt, or even skinny jeans paired with the right tailored jacket…a to-die-for, skyscraper pair of peep-toe pumps. I saved every Saks Fifth giftcard last winter to purchase these lustworthy beauties…other people’s money well spent!
A minimalist with avant-garde tendencies, some level of shock value is important to me as well when stiletto shopping, just as long as that healthy balance between timeless & trend is achievable. The Louboutin ‘Bretelle’ sandal delivers just that…by leaving off any sort of crystal embellishment on the clasp, this style works for both day & evening. Equally, the leather is a perfectly-toned gold metallic & the design is functional, not forgettable by next season…
Stilettos speak my personal style language…people can easily forget a name, but never forget a remarkable pair of Choo’s!
