Nail Polish Colors For Fall

by Milana on August 26, 2010

The wind is starting to blow, which means our hands will dry out if we don’t take care of them, so make sure to give yourself a hand bath once in a while and remember to use lots of hand cream before you go to bed – your hands will be so soft and your nails will look a lot better, when you put on the newest nail polish colors!

Khaki

Chanel always has the best choice of color and I have been a fan for a long time… This fall the nails are going khaki – a color we haven’t used that much on our nails before and I’m loving it!

PRODUCT INFO: CHANEL

These three colors are earthy and natural, giving your look a deep, earthy fall feel. They go well with anything from feminine to edgy, so dip your nails right in… I must say, it’s hard to pick a favorite, but the Khaki Vert (in the middle) is really different!

Yves Saint Laurent

Chanel has the widest range of beautiful colors, but YSL has, hands down, the best quality. They are definitely my favorite because they stay on for such a long time, still looking fresh and like you’ve just painted your nails. And let’s face it, there’s nothing worse than half scratched off nail polish. Unless you’re Avril Lavigne – then that’s probably the look you’re going for.

PRODUCT INFO: YSL

This limited edition (You’re lucky if you can find it) consists of two of the hottest colors this fall – gold and purple – and it is an ”interpretation of the classic French Manicure”. YSL writes: ‘‘These “twin sets” leave nails with an ultra-satin finish for an irresistibly chic color statement” and I couldn’t agree more.

What do you think?

Are you loving these colors for fall? Or do you have something else in mind?

Lovely idea. Perfect for fall, indeed.
I still prefer darker nail polishes (like the purple YSL one), but if I can get my hands on a nailpolish in one of the Chanel colours, I might give it a try!

Love the khaki shades. I have to get back in the habit of wearing polish. Got out of the habit when I had a parakeet (they’re super sensitive to smells).

LOVING those Chanel polishes. I’d love to try that khaki color sometime. The YSl purple is gorgeous. I feel like purple [and dark grey] are good alternatives to black, which seem to harsh. Stop by and say hi sometime… XO

Don’t like neon orange, or true orange orange. But want to try an darker orange or a burnt orange with a hint of red. Got any color advice?

Hi B. Have you seen Essie’s Vermillion? Hope this helps! Milana

Ummm. Maybe it’s a case of computer colors not looking right, but when I looked at this one, it looked pretty much red. We are looking for a darker orange, burnt orange with a hint of red. Maybe an orangy bronze, or a ginger, or a copper. We would like it to definitely say “orange” when you look at it but not be that loud offensive neon bright kind of pure orange orange. Maybe this one is it and it just didn’t look right on our computer. Thank you very much!!

Hmm it looks orange on my computer. Weird. Try going into the store – it’s always easier to find the right color in real life. They always look different when applied, I think! :) And no problem, sorry I couldn’t be of more help!

Also when we looked there were quite a few colors that had the name Vermillion in it, even one that was Vermillionaire. Maybe we are not looking at the same one. With the above comments, please feel free to make other recommendations. Thank you.

If you meant the one called Vermillionaire, yes we saw that one. If you could recommend a color that is just a hint more red and just a hint more burnt, that would be great. Thank you very much!!!

I’m sorry, that’s the closest thing I could come to the one you’re describing. Try looking at this one from Revlon. The one from Essie I referred you to is called Vermillion and is the only one from Essie called that.

Thank you.

I am still confused though. When I clicked on the Essie link above, the polish that comes up is “Vermillionaire.” ?

One question – Are the Essie nail polishes pretty much scent free. I see that they are free of the nasty chemicals. Thank you.

They don’t have a strong scent, no. You’re welcome.
