Polka dots are funny little things. They have been around for many, many years, and ever so often they return with a bang! Recently, I started noticing them here and there, like the asymmetrical dress I found on Asos, and what do you know? Marc Jacobs hits us with a zillion of them in his wonderful Resort 2011 collection.
What makes them different this time around is the fact that they are looking a lot more sophisticated.
They’re bigger and there are less of them, making them more structured and graphic looking than usual. I really like the way Marc Jacobs is using them in his collection, making them more modern end edgy. (Polka dots have been known to make you look more matronly than necessary sometimes!)
It’s time to go in the back of your closet and revive a scarf or a blouse with polka dots!

I love polka dots SO MUCH! I hope they never go out of fashion!
It’s the perfect time to love them!
How did you know they were in the back of my closet?
Hehehe everyone has them in the back of their closet! Just found a scarf and a blouse myself
I love the dresses!!!! So pretty!
And the trenchcoat is to die for!
Marc Jacobs makes everything so amazing! He’s by far my favorite designer! Thanks for the comment, Ally!
very stylish!! polkadots always bring instant fun and style
I like it, though some dresses look more sock hop-ish to me…take the first one, for example. Besides the deep v neck, the dress looks a little outdated.
Oh no, those are Marc Jacobs 2011 resort collection dresses. He would be sad to hear ‘outdated’
We’ll be seeing a lot of 50′s inspired looks (skirts and dresses) this next season…
Thanks for the comments, Caroline
The dress foam asos is very nice though. Stylish. Too bad my old polka dotted dress from rare editions has gotten too small!
