New Trend Alert: Snake Leggings

Animal prints are making their comeback into the world of fashion as we speak. Zebras, tigers, leopards and especially snakes are sneaking into our wardrobe. Shirts and blouses with animal print have come and gone for years, but something new that I’ve fallen for are these snake print leggings as seen on Twilight actress Kristen Stewart. These leggings seen on Kristen Stewart are by Thomas Wylde (Sneaky Ho Leggings) They retail at just under $ 840. That’s a bit pricey, unless you really are Kristen Stewart! A pair of snake print leggings is not what I consider a basic in my wardrobe. They’re in and they’re hot, but I would never dream on spending 840 dollars on a pair.

So what to do?

Google and you shall find! Here are some great alternatives for you if you wish to achieve the luxurious animal inspired legs.

This pair is from H&M and costs $35.

This pair is from Mango (I personally prefer these as they do not seem to be as shiny as the H&M ones) and cost $ 31.

How to wear them?

Snake leggings can look a bit intimidating when you see them on their own. At least to me. Leggings in particular are very sexy and excentuate your curves and the animal print just attracts even more attention to you.

During the day, I recommend wearing these with a knee-high, a bit loose, black or brown dress, a chunky nitted jumper or an oversized shirt. Here are some examples what to pair them with:

I love leggings but not that much to spend $840 on them! I like how Kristen Stewart looks in those snake printed leggings. However, I’m not too fond of shiny snake, zepra, leopard etc, prints… I’m a little picky when it comes to prints and clothes, but I could always give it a try; it’s always good to try something new. :)

P.S. I love the knitted jumper! So cute! I think my favorite part of winter is being able to wear knitted jumpers with leggings and leather or suede boots.

Yes! I was too very iffy when I found a pair of snake print leggings, but when you put them toghether with something not so “out there” as they are, the effect really looks nice!

The outfit you described with the knitted jumper sound very nice! Especially if the boots aren’t too fancy, but kinda rock n’ roll scruffy! That would give it a sense of personality!

What I’d like to know is, how do they feel? Some leggings and patterned stockings can make you think you’ve just wrapped barbed wire around your legs! Especially ones that look like the H&M brand. Have you tried them?

Hello Susan, thank you for your comment! I’ve tried the ones from a brand called Zara – I just couldn’t find a picture, as they do not have an online shop, but mine look a lot like the ones from Mango shown in the post. They feel no different than regular polyester/elastine leggings (you’ve probably seen the leather-looking leggings, also called the wet-look leggings). Even though polyester is not what I prefer, it is actually okay for the leggings. As for the H&M ones… They do look as if they’re made of nylon.
