Over The Knee Boots, Ponchos, Beanies: Winter Must-Haves

I don’t know about you, but I am starting to freeze! The winter is slowly announcing its arrival sending the law temperatures our way… When it comes to fashion, it’s not my favourite season, mostly because my hair doesn’t go well with big scarfs, hats, rain and snow! But with the right items, you can have a good looking, warm and comfortable winter. Here are some winter essentials:

  • What you always have to have near you during winter is a good hand cream. The wind can dry them out and there’s nothing worse than uncared-for hands. I chose a hand cream from Chanel, but any will work as long as it is moisturizing and without chemicals!
  • The wind can dry out your lips as well, so always have a lip balm (choose one that is NOT based on water, as the water-based ones will dry your lips even more!) in your bag! Make sure you’re lips are kissable during winter too!
  • There’s nothing better than jumping into a pair of slipper socks after a long day at work or school. My feet are chronically cold during winter and these socks are making me very comfortable during the cold nights! They’re very cosy!
  • Earmuffs… Hmm…My mum tells me I haven’t worn one of these since I was 4 years old, but this winter I’m kinda feeling them! As I told you earlier I ride a bike a lot and I love it, but the ears don’t and they usually feel like ice cubes, so when you don’t feel like wearing a hat and potentially ruining your hair-do, grab some trendy earmuffs and set a winter trend! Asos.com has so many feminine earmuffs to choose from, I chose the ones from UGG as they look so comfy and warm!
  • UGG boots come in handy any day and every girl should have a pair! They’re comfy and warm – what more do you need? I use mine when I shop for grocery and stuff like that. They don’t do it when it comes to work!
  • HOT CHOCOLATE! Cuddle up in your sofa after a day at work, put the warm socks on and an episode of Trude Blood (How hot is that Alexander Skarsgård??!) and make yourself a cup of hot cocoa!

So what kind of boots should you buy this winter?

There’s no doubt about it – over the knee boots are a must-have this season. There are many different choices and many different prices!

Also biker leather boots, just like biker leather jackets, are making their way into our winter wardrobes. I personally love them and wear them with skinny jeans, skirts and leggings/jeggings as they give my outfits an edgier look! Plus they’re very comfortable!

The good thing about this season’s boot trend is that there’s a pair for any age, size and shape!

Biker boots (from top): Black boots, Short boots, Motorcycle boots, Suede boots

What’s with the ponchos?

Trust me on this one! Ponchos are going to keep you warm whole winter long. Wear some tight jeans underneath and cool boots and you’re ready to face the snow!

White poncho, Black poncho, Grey poncho

And how about gloves and hats?

So if you do prefer a hat over earmuffs, this is what you’re looking for this season:

hatsThe boyfriend beanie is HOT this season – Mine is black and looks better with the hair down!

PRODUCT INFO

Grey beanie, Purple beanie, Studded beanie

And gloves

It kinda looks like the designers want us to freeze this winter. Fingerless and low cut gloves are hotter than ever! I have the first ones shown in the picture below and I love them. Really soft leather keeps the hands warm and trendy at the same time! Just like when it comes to jackets and boots, bikers are influencing the gloves as well!

Leather (from top): Stud scoop glove, Fingerless, Keyhole

Other materials (from top): Striped fingerless, Grey wool, Suede keyhole

And then it starts raining…

There’s nothing worse than when you get all dressed up, do your hair, put pretty pumps on, step outside and it starts raining!

A rain coat is a must-have. If you live in London, you know what I mean! I myself just found out how much they come in handy and thankfully there are some very pretty rain coats and boots to choose from!

I was sitting here freezing and Stumbled this article. I forgot how great clothes look in the winter. By the way, when it's cold out, you wear the fingerless gloves over your leather gloves for added warmth. Otherwise, you wear them indoors when the thermostat is set to 68.

What a great idea to wear the fingerless gloves over leather gloves, Susan! I have to try that this season! Thanks for the comment!

I’m glad you like it – you inspired it! :)

Winter is both good and bad when it comes to fashion; there are so many more accessories and who doesn’t love wearing boots – but then again, it’s raining, snowing and freezing cold!

P.S. You shop a lot!! I like it! :)
