Thanks so much for your comment, Missy! I totally understand where you’re coming from. What I do is, I mix items that are conservative/professional with modern, trendy stuff. For instance I wear a pencil with a t-shirt and a scarf and if it’s cold a cardigan. I never wear a blazer with a skirt – way too boring. I wear black skinny jeans in stead of tailored black pants and mix them with a fitted blazer and a nice blouse with some ruffles for example. Throw in an oversized ring, a colourful scarf or a headband and you’re business chic! I think I’ll do a new post about young business women like us

I have this dilemma ALL the time. Thank goodness our office is a little more casual, but there is a bit of a transition going around that is going more towards the “dress business” direction. I’m 24 too and I love being able to show my own style, but I’m finding myself being stifled by the pressure to look professional, especially at my age. I didn’t think about the differently shaped blazers, which is great especially now that there are so many styles out there! I think I’m going shopping now…
