There are many ways you can choose to accessorize an outfit. The most common way is to use jewelry whether you want to dress an outfit up or down. A classic black dress can be dressed down with some bangles made out of wood or plastic and a simple white summer dress made out of cotton can be dressed up with some silver jewelry.
However… Accessories don’t only cover your neck, ears and wrists. For some time now, I have been sporting hair accessories as the primary jewelry. These hair accessories mainly consist of hair bands with big flowers or bows,

I like the bottom two pictures, but the top one is a little too much for me. I like accessories that you notice, but not really notice.
Yes, the top one is an exaggeration of how hair accessories could look. Unless you’re walking the runway or your name is Victoria Beckham I with go with something that looks more like the bottom two pictures. Thanx for your comment!
Beaded, jeweled and other-wise decorated combs, barrettes, and hats have always been the proper thing to dress up or down. I’d always considered hair bands as a tool to keep hair out of the face. This is a cute idea that proves otherwise.
Thank you for your comment! – Yes, most of us see hair bands as a practical tool – I see them as both practical and decorative. So even if the haircut is short, hair bands can be used as a way to accessorize the outfit!
I think my favorite hair accessories are hats and flowers. You can always make a simple pony tail look great by pinning a decorative flower on the side.
I have to say that the picture on the top looks pretty ridiculous; it’s too much. The pictures on the bottom are more settled and cute.
